The Race – Glidecam 2000

Last weekend I decided to make the most of being in New Zealand and to test out my new toy, the‘ Glidecam 2000′ (which I have to say is amazing – I’ll post more about it in the near future). So I shot a simple video about a running race with a group of mates. On the Saturday we went location hunting around Auckland City and ran through each scene. Once we’d finished preping we drove to the North Shore to shoot the ending of the film just before dark.

On the day of the shoot I woke up early, finished preping my gear and headed into Auckland to start filming. The weather was amazing, just as we hoped and we got some cool shots while having a blast. By the end of the shoot we were feeling a bit tired but we were stoked (happy) as we managed to shoot everything we needed plus a few extra shots. I will upload the video soon. But for now here are a few photos from the shoot. Thanks to Taylor Saunders for all the behind the scenes photos.

Storm Freerunning – Volume 1

Over the last 6 months Claudiu Voicu and the Storm Freerunning team have been working on their first free running video and all I can say after watching it is WOW! The videography, the tricks and the over all edit of the video is phenomenal! The video was done on no budget, shot completely on the Canon 5D Mark II and the 7D and edited on Premiere Pro. Watch the video below and if you’d like to learn more about how it was made click here.

Decipher

Free Running

Last Wednesday I met up with a group of free runners called Decipher to shoot a doco with them. Free Running which incorporates efficient movements from parkour is a form of urban acrobatics. The guys from Decipher are incredibly fit and the flips and tricks they can do are extremely impressive. We went all around Auckland city and captured some awesome shots. The amount of energy and enthusiasm Decipher has is amazing and it was so much fun capturing all their moves on video. If you’d like to learn more about the group check out their youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/DecipherNZ Here are some shots from the shoot thanks to Karl Drury:
